Goulash

Preparation Time : 1 hour 30 mins

Servings: 6

Ingredients

10 onions
500 g beef
100 g butter
1 l meat stock
2 tbs paprika
2 tbs chilli powder
1/2 tsp marjoram
1/2 tsp ground caraway seeds
a pinch of salt
2 potatoes
5 tomatoes
2 peppers
2 cloves of garlic
100 ml red wine (just under 1/4 cup)
soured cream

Instructions

  1. Dice the onions.
  2. Cut the meat into small pieces.
  3. Fry the onions in a pot with the butter.
  4. Add the meat and fry.
  5. Add the stock and seasoning and simmer on a low heat for 45 min.
  6. Peel and dice the potatoes, dice the tomatoes, cut the peppers into strips, crush the garlic and add everything to the pot.
  7. Cook for another 30 min.
  8. Stir in the red wine and a bit of soured cream and bring to the boil once again.
