Chilli Con Carne

Servings: 4

Ingredients

480 g mince
2 small tins of kidney beans
2 large tins of tomatoes
1 small tin of sweetcorn
2 onions
2 cloves of garlic
2 red chillies
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 stick of cinnamon
1 tsp oregano
salt and pepper
oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions, garlic and chillies into fine pieces and sauté in oil for 5 min.
  2. Add chilli powder and cumin and cook for another minute.
  3. Add the mince, cook all the way through, seasoning with salt, pepper and oregano as you go.
  4. Add the tomatoes and cinnamon stick and simmer on a medium heat for 60 min.
  5. Remove the cinnamon stick.
  6. Drain, wash and add beans.
  7. Add sweetcorn and simmer for a further 30 min.
  8. Serve with white bread.
