Onion Soup with Croutons

Cook Time: 35 mins

Servings: 4

Ingredients

500 g onions
2 cloves of garlic
40 g butter
5 tsp flour
250 ml white wine (1 cup)
1 l beef stock
salt and pepper
100 g grated cheese
4 slices of toast bread
parsley

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions into rings.
  2. Finely chop the garlic.
  3. Cook both in a pot with butter.
  4. Add flour and sauté for 5 min.
  5. Add the white wine, stock, salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer for 25 min. on a low heat.
  7. Pour into an oven dish, sprinkle with cheese and grill for 8 min.
  8. Toast the bread, dice and fry in a pan until crispy.
  9. Serve everything together and garnish with parsley.
