Red Cabbage Gratin

Ingredients

600 g red cabbage
300 g pasta
1 onion
butter
1 tbs flour
250 ml milk (1 cup)
200 g grated cheese
nutmeg and pepper
parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat salted water in a pot.
  2. Cook the cabbage in the water for 15 min.
  3. Pour out 250 ml (1 cup) of the water and retain for later.
  4. Cook the pasta in salted water for 10 min.
  5. Finely slice the onion and fry in butter.
  6. Add flour.
  7. Slowly stir in the milk and the 250 ml of cabbage water and cook for 5 min.
  8. Mix in 100 g cheese and season with nutmeg and pepper.
  9. Grease a casserole dish with butter and add the cabbage, pasta and sauce.
  10. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the top.
  11. Bake at 180˚C, 350˚F or gas 4 for 15-20 min.
  12. Garnish with parsley.
