Tasty BBQ Spare Ribs

Ingredients

4 ribs
2 onions
vegetable oil
2 tbs brown sugar
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 tbs red wine vinegar
200 ml tomato ketchup
2 tbs vinegar
4 tbs honey
salt and pepper
2 tsp paprika
chilli flakes

Instructions

  1. Dice the onions and cook in oil.
  2. Add sugar and cook until caramelised.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, ketchup, vinegar and honey, and bring to the boil.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, paprika and chilli flakes.
  5. Pour 3/4 of the sauce over the ribs and place in an oven tray. For a stronger flavour, leave the ribs to marinate for several hours.
  6. Cook on the barbecue or in the oven for 60 min. at 200°C, 390°F or gas 6, turning the ribs after 30 min.
  7. Serve the ribs with the rest of the sauce.
