Thai Beef Salad

Servings: 3

Ingredients

500 g beef rump steak
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tbs fish sauce
2 tbs lime juice
1 tbs finely grated palm sugar
1 tsp finely chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
lettuce
1 carrot
1/2 cucumber
1 shallot
50 g roasted peanuts, smashed
1 handful fresh coriander

Instructions

  1. Cut the meat into thin strips.
  2. Combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, palm sugar, garlic and ginger.
  3. Marinate the meat in half of this mixture for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator (for best results, leave overnight). Set aside the rest of the mixture to use as a dressing.
  4. Cook the meat in a pan or on a barbecue.
  5. Wash and tear the lettuce.
  6. Peel and grate the carrot.
  7. Grate the cucumber.
  8. Chop the shallot.
  9. Toss everything together and garnish with coriander leaves.
