Spicy Asian Beef with Beans

Servings: 4

Ingredients

200 g rice
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
vegetable oil
100 ml soy sauce
2 tbs rice wine
100 ml water
4 tbs brown sugar
200 g beans
2 spring onions
500 g beefsteak
2 tsp cornflour

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice.
  2. Finely chop the garlic and ginger.
  3. Lightly sauté both in a pan with oil.
  4. Add soy sauce, rice wine and water.
  5. Add sugar and cook until dissolved. Set the sauce aside.
  6. Halve the beans, remove the stalks and blanch in salted water for 10 minutes.
  7. Chop the spring onions.
  8. Cook both in a pan with oil until well done and set to one side.
  9. Cut the meat into thin strips and leave to sit in the cornflour for 10 minutes.
  10. Cook in another pan with oil.
  11. Mix all ingredients together and cook the sauce until reduced a little. Serve with rice.
