Steak with Mushroom Sauce

Cook Time: 20 mins

Servings: 4

Ingredients

4 steaks
1/2 cup sundried tomatoes (without the oil)
250 g white button mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
1 shallot
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 dried thyme
1 tbs flour
1 tsp beef stock powder
1 cup water
2 tsp butter
olive oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried tomatoes in hot water for 5 min., then drain.
  2. Slice the mushrooms, dice the garlic and shallot, fry in a pan for 4 min., then set aside.
  3. Dress the steaks with salt and pepper and fry for 5 min. on each side.
  4. Remove from the pan. Bring the wine to boil in the pan with the thyme and cook to reduce for 5 min.
  5. Mix the flour and stock with a cup of water before adding to the pan.
  6. Add the tomatoes and the mushroom mixture and heat up again.
  7. Serve the steaks.
  8. Goes well with potato chips or wedges.
