Burgers with Pears

Servings: 4

Ingredients

For the pears:
2 pears (e.g. Williams pears)
1 tbs raw sugar
1/2 cinnamon scroll
1/4 vanilla pod
For the sauce:
4 tbs mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
salt and pepper
For the rest:
500 g beef mince
salt, pepper, paprika
4 tbs parmesan
4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the pears. Cut lengthwise into slices roughly 1 cm thick.
  2. Place in a pot with enough water to cover.
  3. Add sugar, cinnamon, and seeds from the vanilla pod.
  4. Simmer for around 20-40 minutes until the pears are soft.
  5. Remove the pears.
  6. For the burger sauce, combine the mayonnaise, mustard and seasoning.
  7. Season the mince, knead and shape into patties.
  8. Cook in a pan or on a barbecue.
  9. While grilling, sprinkle with parmesan and allow to melt a little.
  10. Toast the hamburger buns.
  11. Fill each bun with sauce, a patty, cheese and slices of pear.
